I got a chance to go out to LA again. It is so nice. The main destination was Pasadena. Before, I have heard the name but I didn't really know anything about it. Well, Pasadena is home to the Rose Bowl. This is the tournament of Roses. The first games were held in 1890 which included ostrich racing. "In New York, people are buried in snow, here our flowers are blooming and our oranges are about to bear. Let's hold a festival to tell the world about our paradise."

The festival began to grow and included marching bands and motorized floats. In 1902 the first football game was included in the festival, Stanford against Michigan. In 1923, the Rose Bowl in picture above was constructed. This has turned into a huge tradition over the years and as I drove into the city, there were huge bleachers still setup from the parade. Now, the top college football teams meet for the championship here.
Another massive attraction to Pasadena is CalTech. As an Engineer, I really wanted to check out the infamous campus.

The building above is kind of like Convocation Hall at UofToronto. They hold big presentations and events here. The campus is really nice. The buildings are beautiful.
On our way out of the city I went to Manhatten Beach. This is very nice beach. I actually didn't expect there to be a beach this nice in LA. Infact, I have a better opinion of LA now after I got to see Pasadena, Montebello and Manhatten Beach.

The houses along the beach are so beautiful.
I took Highway one out of the city and I drove under LAX. It's cool because Highway 1 goes under the tarmac where the plans take off. Good Trip :)
