The Rock
Our first stop in San Francisco was Fishermans Wharf. Alcatraz could be seen so clearly from the the Wharf and I began to think about how weird it would be if inmates were still kept there. You can see it in the background. Everyone who is planning to go to San Fran, you gotta book your tickets to Alcatraz 2 weeks ahead. Fisherman's Wharf and pier 39 are both at the north east corner of the city. They are both a huge tourist trap so thats why we ended up there. You get a great view of the bay, and many people launch their sail boats there as you can see.
Since we were at a major sea food area we all grabed a bite. I had a crab sandwich and it was sooo good. Marcus got Clam Chowder in a bread bowl. We plan to come back to this area to take a few boat tours of the bay aswell as take the boat over to Alcatraz. Pier 39 was probably the most impressive. The pier actually had 2 levels with many restaurantes and gift shops on it. There was even a place called "Bubba Gump Shrimp" where there was all you can eat shrimp. This was a pretty fun place to go because it was really busy with a lot going on. Below is a slightly better picture of Alcatraz. Don't worry, I am going to head over there in a few weeks so I will get pictures inside too.
