Spring Break 2006

Ever wonder how you do Spring Break in one weekend? I will tell you...
First you and 3 friends (Marcus, Andrew and Bijan) buy tickets to San Diego on Friday evening about an hour after work is done for the day. From San Diego you rent a Ford Taurus (Make sure you have Mexican Drivers Insurance) and head to Tijuana. Don't stop in Tijuana!!! And drive about 20 miles south to the town of Rosarito. Park the taurus and walk around Rosarito until you find the club with the loudest bass that shakes your body a mile away. Get in there and party. PS.. check out the girls riding the automated bull riding machine...
When the sun starts to rise, get out the camping gear you lugged onto the plane and set up on the beach near the fire and the homeless mexican. If a bunch of mexicans come buy with a case of beer.. Bonus!
Wake up and check out the surroundings. Rosarito is a coastal town with a very nice beach. This is a very popular destination for College students to come during Spring Break because it is very close to San Diego and easily accessible.
Hop in the car and drive down to Peurto Nuevo. This place is about 20 miles south of Rosarito on the coast and it is known for seafood. Especially Lobster.
Look for the seafood restaurant with the long line comming out of it.. Trust me it is worth it. You get a whole lobster for dirt cheap. Just look at that!!!
Head back to Rosarito cause you are missing the action. What would Spring Break be with girls going wild? I thought I would run into Snoop Dogg.
During Spring Break a lot of big headliner musicians come down here to Perform. Xzibit, Gunit, Sean paul... Marcus and I hooked up tickets to see TI peform at one of the clubs. It was $30 to get into to see TI and it was all you can drink. We had a straight up blast there!!!
The next morning (Sunday) wake up and enjoy the city and the mexican food. Grab a burrito and the local eatery and watch the mexican city life pass you by. Head back to Tijuana early cause there will be a super long line to cross the Boarder back to San Diego.
When you get back to San Diego be sure to stop at Pizza Port for some good pizza and craft beers. It was an excellent way to relax sunday evening. Afterwards, go into the Gas Lamp district in San Diego and catch the night life before you head to the Airport. Good think you will be very tired cause you will be sleeping in the terminal until your flight back to the bay area at 6:45 AM. When you arrive back in SF run home and take a shower and be at your desk for Monday!!!

This is the way you do Spring Break. We had such a great time. I won't forget!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Amra (March 15th) and Mike (February 29th HOW COOL IS THAT). We got to celebrate a few birthdays while we were here. And ofcourse we had to throw a party for each one of them.
For Amra's Birthday we went out to Ruby Skye downtown San Francisco. Ruby Skye is the nicest club I have ever been to. Stained-glass portraits circa-1814 highlight the club's decor while maintaining an old-school flavor. (The place once housed the historic Stagecoach Theatre.) The lighting system casts an oceanic effect on the dance floor--very Cirque du Soleil feel. We had a lot of fun and we didn't get home to 5 am.
For Mike's party we went out to Delerium Cocktails. This place played some good music and had a nice rock feel to it. The neon sign in front reads: "Service for the Sick." Here you will find all the things that help make great bars: a pool table, pinball machines, rock-and-roll poster art and TV monitors tuned to ESPN. There's also a great back room equipped with vinyl banquettes and a DJ booth. The dance floor was rammed with people. This place was pretty cool.
Happy Birthday Amra and Mike!! We all had a great time.

Mission Peak

Mission Peak is just outside Fremont, CA. It has an excellent view of the South Bay. In the picture you can see the most southern tip of the San Francisco Bay. And to the left of that is where San Jose is. This is the Heart of Silicon Valley and as your drive around the valley you will see that it is littered with high tech companies.
Jonathan, Marcus and I took the 2 hour hike to the peak in the afternoon. The elevation of the peak is 2,517 feet and the hike is about 5.6 miles long. You climb the elevation pretty quickly. The funny part is that the whole area belongs to a farmer who lets the cows graze all over the mountain side so we had to dodge some cows.
Looking east (instead of west above) you can see the typically rolling hillside California. It is not yet summer so the hills are still green. Normally all the hills turn "gold" in the summer time due to lack of rain. Hence the state is called "The Golden State".

Ofcourse, we stuck around for the sunset over the bay. It was very nice. As we were coming down, you could see all the lights from the bay area and it was amazing. I wish I got some good shots of that. Anyway, Good Hike!
